Commercial Wax Coating

One of the most important things to do to maintain the beauty of VCT tiles is to get them waxed on a regular basis. A good VCT wax repair can make daily mopping and sweeping easier. Apart from this, it can also protect the floor from foot traffic.

Here is how to wax a floor made of vinyl composition tiles:

Step 1:

With the assistance of an electric floor scrubber and a stripper chemical, remove any pre applied wax on the floor. This can also help in removing glue and construction soil that might have seeped in between the tiles during installation.

Step 2:

Now use an industrial floor care vacuum and squeegee to get rid of all the liquid. Once done, clean the surface with a neutral cleaner. This helps in counterbalancing the alkalinity that generates due to the stripper chemical. Failure to neutralize will result in a poor bond between the wax and the floor. Apart from this, it is also important to allow the surface to dry out thoroughly before proceeding to the next level.

Step 3:

Clean up the chemicals and industrial floor care equipment so that the space is empty. Now take a mop bucket and fill it with the sealer. Dampen a mop with the solution and use it on the floor, applying thin coats. Let the surface dry out completely. Once done, rinse the mop in cold water.

Step 4:

Clean the bucket and fill it with wax. Again, use a mop to apply the solution all over the floor in extremely thin coats. Once done, let the surface dry out. Make sure the coats are completely dry. The total number of layers needed, will depend on the shine one desires to achieve. The greater the number of coats, shinier the surface will become.

Also, when applying the solution it is good to read the manufacturer’s instructions properly to avoid any damage to the surface. It is also important to clean the surface thoroughly before applying the solutions to ensure a good job.
